GNFMC Welcomes New Staff Members

The Clinic has completed the reorganization of its staff employees and welcomes two new members.   Each brings valuable experience which will enable the Clinic to continue providing outstanding free medical care for low-income, uninsured adults in Beaufort County and to help ensure that they know where the Clinic is located and how to access our services.

Carol McConn MBA RN continues to lead the patient care program as our Clinical Director.  Judy M. Gough BA RN, who had been a volunteer nurse, became Assistant Clinical Director in mid-August and is now helping Ms. McConn manage the patient care program.  Most recently, Ms. Gough served as Clinical Director of the OB/GYN Practice at Southern Pines Women’s Health Center in Southern Pines, NC.  Prior to her service in Southern Pines, she was a surgical nurse at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC and at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens, GA.  Nursing is a second career for Judy, one which she feels she has been called to and one which she feels blessed to practice.

Our newest employee, Linda A. Bennett MA LBSW, will begin work at the Clinic later in September.  Ms. Bennett has accepted the position of Outreach Director, which will allow her to be  an important link between the Clinic and the community, helping to spread the word about the Clinic’s services and volunteer opportunities.  Ms. Bennett has experience working in the local schools, both as a teacher and social worker, and in the Beaufort County Department of Social Services.

The Clinic Board is excited that the new staff is now in place and looks forward working with to working together with its members in the coming months.
