GNFMC Thanks Retiring Volunteers

The success of every not-for-profit organization depends upon its volunteers. Good Neighbor Free Medical Clinic is no exception, and we are pleased to recognize the contributions of two individuals who have given generously of their time and talent.

The Reverend Mavera2ark Avera served as a board member from the Clinic’s earliest days, representing The Parish Church of St. Helena in Beaufort. He was loyal and engaged, serving as the Vice Chair of the Board for the past year. This fall, he accepted a call from St. Michael’s Church in Charleston, SC where he will serve as the Assistant for Finance and Transformation.

DSC_0004Mary Strickland joined the Clinic team as a volunteer in 2012. She developed the current prescription assistance program and kept it running smoothly throughout her tenure. Perhaps as importantly she was a friendly and positive presence, welcoming all to her office with a warm smile, and she soon mastered the workings of all aspects of the Clinic. She will be missed by patients and staff.

We extend our thanks and best wishes to both Mark and Mary and wish them well for the future.
