Maridolores (Mari) Valentin is originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, and has lived in Beaufort, South Carolina, for over 30 years.
Mari began her career in education, teaching Elementary Education and later Spanish at the middle school level after relocating to Beaufort. She transitioned into community health, where she spent 18 years supporting accessible healthcare services.
Following her retirement, she joined the AmeriCorps program through the South Carolina Free Clinic Association (SCFCA) as a Community Health Worker, bringing her experience in education, outreach, and patient support to the clinic’s mission. She is honored to work alongside a dedicated team providing comprehensive care to individuals who might otherwise go without essential services.
In her free time, Mari enjoys beach walks, visiting the library, and watching sports.
