The Good Neighbor Free Medical Clinic of Beaufort is pleased to welcome Matthew G. Checketts who will be serving a one month clinical rotation with us. Matthew is a candidate for a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at A.T. Still University in Arizona. In addition to his current studies, Matthew has earned an Associates Degree in General Studies from Mesa Community College in Mesa, AZ, an Associates Degree in Applied Science and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with a Chemistry Minor from Brigham Young University in Rexburg, ID.
Matthew is in his final year of medical school. Starting in July of this year he will be doing his residency training in Internal Medicine at Florida Atlantic University Hospital in Boca Raton Florida.
While at our Clinic, Matthew will be working with staff physicians and nurse practitioners to provide general primary care services to our patients. As he looks to his future, he is interested in community health programs and sees his time with GNFMC as an important introduction to this vital medical field. When asked about his goals for this clinical rotation, he replied, “I’m looking forward to serving the community and gaining more knowledge and experience about medicine from the physicians that I’ll have the opportunity to work with. Additionally, I’m looking forward to gaining insights about serving a population with limited resources.”
GNFMC of Beaufort is confident that he will be a wonderful, albeit, short-term addition to our team.
