Please help me welcome our first Director of Development, Janie Lackman! Good Neighbor is so fortunate to add another very talented team member!
Janie’s servant heart can be traced back to her pre-professional days as a student at Wake Forest University where she was a serial volunteer. Upon arriving in Beaufort over 17 years ago, she realized her dream of leaving the corporate world to join the non-profit world. She quickly found her niche in Development work and has served several local NPO’s in this capacity with her last position being Development Director at LowCountry Habitat for Humanity where she elevated their program to consistently fund Home Build Campaigns in addition to growing their overall funding structure and adding special events such as the popular Turkey Trot 5K.
Her original NPO calling was in the medical field at a local hospice where she was inspired to help others the way she had been helped following the death of several family members. Janie is thrilled to get back to these medical service roots at Good Neighbor Medical Clinic and continue to serve the Beaufort community thru this work.
When she not working, Janie spends time with her rescue foxhound mix, Rainey, walking the beach, attempting to train as a runner and volunteering with the Pritchards Sea Turtle Team. She also serves on several local NPO committees and boards including OneBlood Ambassador Board, The Beaufort Charities Committee and Southern Lowcountry AFP Committee.
