Welcome to New Board Members

HATHAWAY-ALDENThe Good Neighbor Free Medical Clinic of Beaufort recently welcomed two area residents to its Board. The Rt. Rev. Alden M. Hathaway is currently serving St. Helena’s Church as its Bishop in Residence. Bishop Hathaway came to Beaufort from Florida where he served following his retirement as Bishop of Pittsburgh in 1997. Earlier in his ministry career he served parishes in Ohio and Virginia. In 1997 he founded Solar Light for Africa, a non-profit dedicated to providing electrical power for rural facilities in sub-Saharan African countries. He and his wife, Barbara, currently reside in Beaufort.

John W. Moses joins the Board, coming from a background in education and fundraising. His teaching career included positions at St. Andrew’s School, DE and Berwick Academy, ME. He served as Director of Development at Kingswood-photoOxford School, CT, Pomfret School, CT, Dublin School, NH and as Consulting Director at Lyndon Institute in Vermont. Mr. Moses also was a Regional Gift Planning Manager for the Episcopal Church Foundation, serving dioceses in New England. He and his wife, Louise, moved to Dataw in 2013 after vacationing there for many years.
